Community Spirit Shines at Scorton Care Village

Scorton Care Village has been a hub of charitable activity recently, with residents and staff coming together to support important causes. Their efforts have made a meaningful impact, raising funds and donating resources to those in need.

In support of Macmillan Cancer Support, the village took part in the Brave the Shave campaign, where individuals shaved their heads to raise funds and awareness for people living with cancer. In addition to this, they also hosted a coffee morning, bringing together residents, families, and staff to enjoy refreshments while contributing to a great cause. The event was a success, raising an impressive £205 to help provide vital services for those affected by cancer.

Meanwhile, in a wonderful display of creativity and generosity, residents hand-crafted crocheted poppies to sell for the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal. Their dedication helped raise £53, contributing to the charity’s ongoing support for veterans and their families.

In addition to fundraising, Scorton Care Village embraced the harvest season by organising a harvest festival within the care home. The event not only brought joy to the residents but also served a greater purpose, as all food donations were collected and sent to the local food bank, which is closely associated with the village church.

These initiatives reflect the strong community spirit at Scorton Care Village, where kindness, creativity, and compassion come together to make a difference. The residents and staff continue to play an active role in supporting charities and giving back to the community.
