Daily Life

Heatherbrook really focuses on our moments approach and the importance of meaningful engagement; encouraging residents to participate in activities that are meaningful to them, offer reminiscence or to try new things and build relationships, we want our residents to enjoy life and maintain their independence.

We encourage support and prompt  daily tasks, from making a cup of tea to pursuing hobbies and pastimes. This increases a sense of purpose, confidence, and achievement amongst our residents.

Residents look forward to our regular visits to local places of interest; such as, theatres, shopping trips, or lunch at the local pub. We have a very popular cafe/bar area for those who enjoy coffee morning or to participate in a nightcap. We have our own salon on site to keep those hairstyles maintained. We have regular external practitioners visit the home to enhance the wellbeing of our residents.

Mealtimes are professionally catered for by our in-house kitchen team, providing a varied, hearty daily menu freshly prepared each day.  We cater for all dietary requirements as well as likes and dislikes, we recognise mealtimes are an activity and want people to really enjoy meal times. A lot of our activities are wrapped around food; world food days, fishy Friday are some of our most popular meal time experiences.

The importance of culture & faith is fully recognised; therefore, strong links with different local faith groups and places of worship have been developed, with regular visits organised.
