Overview
Scorton Care Village provides both nursing and residential care across two buildings for up to 114 people; we offer specialist dementia care to some of our residents Elizabeth House provides residential care for up to 54 people. Archery Bower House provides nursing care for up to 60 people and the home is situated in the enchanting village of Scorton which is located just outside the popular market town of Richmond.
Scorton Care Village is situated within 6 acres of beautiful landscaped grounds. The home offers en-suite rooms, internet access and plenty of space for those meaningful interactions as well as a beautiful garden and a hair salon on site. Our staff offer expertise in various care delivery models.
The home provides residents with a secure, familiar and homely environment including spacious accommodation and modern facilities and sensory stimulation areas. A dedicated valued team of staff are trained and led to provide the highest standard of care, while promoting our values.

Meet the Manager
Alina Bacoanu
I moved to the UK after living in Italy which time I completed further education to a high standard working in a senior role. My first role upon arriving here in the UK was as a Care Assistant at Scorton Care Village, North Yorkshire. This position gave me an insight into social care and I quickly made many connections within the area on a personal and professional level. My existing skills, knowledge, and experience gave me the opportunity to advance my career by seeking more challenging roles, including Unit Manager and Deputy Manager, before assuming my current position as the Registered Home Manager. During the past few years, I have actioned many changes within the service, achieving an overall “Good” from CQC and raising the profile of the home.
I consider myself to be fair, firm, honest, and committed to my role. I take pride in my work and am resolute when it comes to my responsibilities and accountabilities towards the service, residents, and staff. I am dedicated to ensuring that residents and staff receive the best support at Scorton Care Village and that I continue to make a difference.
I love to travel and listen to music, I am an animal lover and like to visit sanctuaries within the area (time permitting!) I believe that my leadership skills are paramount in providing the reputation the staff have gained within the area, which I see as a privilege.

Daily Life
Scorton Care Village really focuses on our moments approach and the importance of meaningful engagement; encouraging residents to participate in activities that are meaningful to them, offer reminiscence or to try new things and build relationships, we want our residents to enjoy life and maintain their independence.
We encourage support and prompt daily tasks, from making a cup of tea to pursuing hobbies and pastimes. This increases a sense of purpose, confidence, and achievement amongst our residents.
Residents look forward to our regular visits to local places of interest; such as trips into the local villages, shopping trips or lunch at the local pub. We have a very popular outside area for those who enjoy basking in the sunshine or a spot of gardening. We have our own salon on site to keep those hairstyles maintained. We have regular external practitioners visit the home to enhance the wellbeing of our residents.
Mealtimes are professionally catered for by our in-house kitchen team, providing a varied, hearty daily menu freshly prepared each day. We cater for all dietary requirements as well as likes and dislikes, we recognise mealtimes are an activity and want people to really enjoy meal times. A lot of our activities are wrapped around food; world food days, fishy friday are some of our most popular meal time experiences.
The importance of culture & faith is fully recognised; therefore, strong links with different local faith groups and places of worship have been developed, with regular visits organised.
